Agreement on the Clarification of the Akosombo Agreement (Accra Clarification)
This clarification agreement amends the Akosombo Agreement of 12 September of 1994. It provides clarity for the ceasefire and the establishment of safe havens and a buffer zone, the restructuring of the security sector and the appointment of of government officials. The Akosombo Agreement with all its clarifications, is acceded to by parties previously not party to the agreement (see Annex I).
Lusaka Protocol
This comprehensive agreement includes 10 Annexes, each relating to a specific matter of the peace talks: Agenda for the Talks, Legal Instruments, Military Issues, Political Issues, National Reconciliation, Electoral Process, the role of the United Nations, Timetable for Implementation and other relevant matters.
Protocol on the Joint Commission for the Implementation of the Agreement on a Provisional Ceasefire and the Cessation of other Hostilities on the Tajik-Afghan Border and within the Country
This agreement implements article 5 of the Ceasefire Agreement of September 1994. It establishes a Joint Commission tasked with the responsibility of monitoring the implementation of the Ceasefire Agreement and mandates the UN to verify violations.
