The Egyptian-Israeli Armistice Agreement was one of a series of agreements concluded under the aegis of UN mediator Ralph Bunche, as empowered by UN Security Council resolution 1080 to facilitate the transition from the present truce to permanent peace in Palestine. The armistice includes an agreement by the parties to adhere scrupulously to the injunction of the Security Council against resort to military force in the settlement of the Palestine question.

This protocol between the governments of Peru and Ecuador seeks to settle the boundary dispute between the two states. Provisions include for the separation of forces, the demarcation of the boundary according to the coordinates laid out in the agreement and the monitoring of the agreement by armed observers from regional states.

This agreement ends hostilities and calls for the withdrawal of troops from both countries. It provides the mechanisms by which the boundary dispute between the parties will be resolved and establishes the principles of respect of sovereignty, territorial integrity and non-interference for the normalizing of relations between the parties.
